Starting at the Academy in the Under-9s, Alfie Taylor signed his first professional contract in May 2021 following the conclusion of his two-year scholarship.

The Hull-born centre-back featured regularly for both the Under-18s and Under-21s in the 2021/22 campaign, featuring predominantly on the left-hand side of defence.

In his first year as a professional, Taylor made the first-team bench on four different occasions, first being named in the goalless draw against away at Blackburn Rovers in April 2023.
