First joining the club in February 2023, Lucas Dawson penned his two-year scholarship three months later. 

Son of current first-team coach and Hall of Fame member Andy, Lucas featured a number of times in the heart of midfield for both the Under-16s and Under-18s after signing from Scunthorpe United. 

A regular goalscorer for the Under-18s, Dawson was rewarded with substitute appearances for the Under-21s during the first year of his scholarship.
