Bio

Born in Brussels, Jason Lokilo joined Hull City in July 2023 on a two-year deal.

The winger spent seven years in Anderlecht’s academy in his native Belgium before moving to England to join Crystal Palace’s youth set-up in 2015. His sole Palace appearance came in an EFL Cup second-round tie against Ipswich Town in August 2017, hitting the post and playing the full 90 minutes in a 2-1 Selhurst Park win.

The winger played six times on loan at French Ligue 2 side Lorient during the 2018/19 season and joined Doncaster Rovers for the second half of the Covid-curtailed 2019/20 campaign. Despite only playing 17 minutes of a 3-1 victory over Wycombe Wanderers, during which he forced an own goal, boss Darren Moore saw enough to sign him permanently that summer.

Lokilo made 16 starts and 23 substitute appearances in all competitions in 2020/21, scoring his only Rovers goal in a 3-1 defeat at Fleetwood Town and notching three assists.

The wide man’s next destination was in the Polish Ekstraklasa with top-division team Górnik Łęczna, for whom he netted three goals and assisted six more in 29 matches.

Moving to the Netherlands with Sparta Rotterdam in June 2022, he featured on eight occasions for the Eredivisie outfit before heading to İstanbulspor on loan in January.

The one-time DR Congo youth international produced his best output during a fruitful five months in the Turkish Süper Lig. He made six goal contributions during a seven-game hot streak and ended his time in Türkiye with a creditable four strikes and three assists in 16 outings.

The left-footer, who predominantly plays on the right, has made a century of appearances across spells with six different clubs in five different countries.

Scoring his first Hull City goal in the FA Cup Third Round replay away at Birmingham City, Lokilo would later join Portuguese side FC Vizela on loan in January 2024, after featuring 21 times for the Tigers. The winger would score once and assist once in 11 appearances for Vizela.
