Bio
Attacking right-back Cyrus Christie joined the Tigers on a free transfer in August 2022 on a two-year deal, with a club option of an extra 12 months.
Beginning his career at boyhood club Coventry City, Christie is vastly experienced at Championship level having made over 250 second-tier appearances.
Making 119 appearances for the Sky Blues, as well as spending time on loan at Conference North sides Nuneaton Town and Hinckley United, the defender joined Derby County in July 2014.
Claiming an assist on his debut, a 1-0 victory over Rotherham United, he made 119 appearances for the Rams over three seasons before moving to Middlesbrough.
Featuring 26 times for Boro over six months, scoring his only goal in a 1-1 draw against Fulham, Christie made the move to the Cottagers for an undisclosed fee.
Winning promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs in the same campaign, Christie made 28 appearances in his debut season in England’s top flight but couldn’t help them avoid relegation.
Promotion was achieved at the first attempt, again via the play-offs, with Christie playing 30 times in all competitions.
At the beginning of the 2020/21 season, he joined Nottingham Forest on loan and made 44 appearances for the Reds, registering five assists.
Christie spent the second half of the season on loan at Swansea City, scoring three goals and providing five assists in 23 games.
Internationally, he has represented the Republic of Ireland 30 times, first making his debut in November 2014 against USA before scoring his first international goal in his second cap, a 4-0 victory over Gibraltar in the European qualifiers.
In his first season with the Tigers, Christie scored three goals in 28 appearances, winning the club's Player of the Month awards for October 2022 and February 2023.
