Midfielder Oliver Green says the team were disappointed not to make it two wins in a week after a goalless draw against Colchester United.
After defeating Wigan Athletic 2-1 in their last fixture, the Tigers were held against a hard-working Colchester side as both teams gained a point in the Professional Development League.
“The boys are disappointed with the result,” said Green.
“After coming off the back of a good win against Wigan, we came into this fixture to set the same standard or beat it, but first half we were miles off it.
“However, as the second half progressed, I thought we got on the ball more and was more brave with it, but the final pass or finish was not there.
“We’re a team that likes to get the ball down and get at people and create chances, but sadly we didn’t do that.
“A positive was keeping the clean sheet. Our back four worked well and to get a clean sheet on any day is a positive as you guarantee yourself at least a point.
“We have got ourselves four points in two games which is good, but we would have liked to have made it six which is the disappointing part.”
The 18-year-old has started in the Under-23s last two fixtures, with both games being played at the MKM Stadium. Green added that he has thoroughly enjoyed the experience to grace the pitch at the MKM and is now focused on returning to winning ways in their next fixture against Ipswich Town Under-23s.
“It has been a massive opportunity for us boys to play at the MKM Stadium,” explained Green.
“You don’t really get that opportunity a lot to play two games in less than a week at our club’s first-team stadium; we’ve all taken it in as a team.
“We’ll now look at our next game against Ipswich. We want to go there and win the game, like we always set out to do. We’ll go there to create chances and hopefully bring back the three points.”
