Longman: Peterborough is a big opportunity

25 February 2022

Ryan Longman says this weekend’s Championship fixture against Peterborough United is a huge game as the Tigers looks to return to winning ways.

The Tigers will be looking to extend their 13-point advantage over the Posh when Shota Arveladze’s men travel to the Weston Homes Stadium.

“Every game in this league is a massive game and an opportunity to get points on the board,” said Longman.

“Peterborough is a big opportunity, but there are loads more games that are also opportunities that we can take points from.

“It’s just about taking it game by game. We’ve been knuckling down and working hard to get everything right. We’ve had a couple of good results recently against Sheffield United and QPR and I feel we are growing as a team.

“Against Barnsley, we just had a bad day at the office. It’s all it was and I think it was a blip and hopefully we can make that right.”

Former Tigers head coach Grant McCann took the managerial reins at Peterborough earlier this week, with Longman originally being brought to Hull City by the Northern Irishman.

“I can’t thank Grant enough for bringing me to this football club,” added Longman.

“He gave me the opportunity here and stuck by me through the good and bad times.

“However, the lads in the changing room are all here to do a job. All of them in that changing room are 100% on board and want to do well for this club and make the fans happy.”
