Robson: Great To Keep A Clean Sheet

10 March 2021

Hull City Under-23’s David Robson was delighted to maintain a clean sheet in the goalless draw against Barnsley.

The goalkeeper saved a penalty in the first-half to secure the Tigers a point in the Professional Development League.

“I thought we played well,” said Robson.

“A nil-nil draw doesn’t sound like a great result, but I think we defended really well and we had a lot of good chances throughout the full ninety.

“Personally, it was great to keep a clean sheet and obviously to save a penalty is good. Ironically my last game was against Barnsley and they scored from a penalty, but I watched the videos that the staff had provided before this game and hes gone the same way and thankfully Ive saved it.”

The fixture against Barnsley was the first at the LNER Community Stadium for the Under-23’s and Robson is looking forward to continue playing there, starting next week against Ipswich Town.

“Its a really good stadium with a really good pitch and its good to be able to play in it for our development,” added Robson.

“Ipswich are a decent side, but were at home and itll be good to play at the stadium again and hopefully if we can defend again like we did and take some of our chances, we can hopefully get the win.”
