Hull City Under-23s midfielder Oliver Green was delighted to win the Billy Bly Memorial Trophy after a 3-1 victory over North Ferriby.
Despite falling behind, goals from Louis Beckett, McCauley Snelgrove and Josh Hinds secured the Tigers victory in their first pre-season fixture.
“I’m happy with the victory and it’s brilliant to win the trophy,” said Green.
“I don’t think the result shows how well we played against a good men’s team in North Ferriby.
“We had four or five really good chances in the first half and another four or five good chances in the second half, and I think we have to be more clinical in the final third going forward.
“I enjoyed the battle in midfield and I thought it was a good test. I felt, with us playing against men, I had to play with fewer touches.
“I had to move the ball quicker and be more direct and I think I coped with the challenge and played quite well.
