After spending time on trial the previous season, Tom Nixon joined Hull City permanently in July 2021 on a one-year contract.
The full-back completed a two-year scholarship with Stoke City before joining the Tigers and captained the Potters’ Under-18s.
In August 2021, Nixon was an unused substitute in the Tigers’ EFL Cup first round fixture against Wigan Athletic at the MKM Stadium and scored his first Under-23s goal in a 4-0 victory over Crewe Alexandra Under-23s in October 2021.
In March 2022, Nixon joined Northern Premier League East division side Pickering Town on loan for the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign. He made five appearances for the Pikes, scoring one goal against Liversedge.
