After featuring for the Under-18s a handful of times in the 2021/22 season, Samuel Opoku signed his two-year scholarship with Hull City in June 2022.

Living in both France and Italy before moving to Hull, the midfielder made his Under-18s debut as a second-half substitute in August 2021 in a 3-1 victory over Colchester United at the MKM Stadium.

A month later, Opoku made his first start for the Under-18s, featuring in a 2-0 win over QPR at Bishop Burton College. The midfielder also made appearances for the Under-21s in his first year as a scholar.
