Bio

Tyler Morton arrived at the MKM Stadium as one of four deadline day signings in the summer on a season-long loan from Premier League side Liverpool.

The highly-rated midfielder penned a new long-term contract with the Reds in January 2023, and joined the Tigers having made nine appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side in all competitions.

The midfielder arrived in HU3 with experience of playing in the second tier already under his belt, having played 46 times for Blackburn Rovers in 2022/23 - his first loan spell away from Anfield. He started 30 games in the Championship for Rovers, providing four assists during his time at Ewood Park.

The holding midfielder helped Jon Dahl Tomasson’s men finish seventh, missing out on the play-offs only on goal difference, and reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Joining Liverpool’s academy aged seven, Wallasey-born Morton has featured in every age group for the Merseyside club and was part of their 2021/22 EFL Cup and FA Cup-winning squads.

The youngster started one Premier League match and two Champions League games that season, including a 2-1 victory over Italian giants AC Milan at the San Siro.

Morton made his debut for the Tigers in September 2023 in a 1-1 draw against Coventry City, before making his first start a few weeks later in a 3-1 win against Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium.

Having previously made three appearances for England Under-20s, Morton received his first call-up to represent the Under-21s in September 2022, and was more recently included in Lee Carsley’s squad in November 2023 following a string of impressive performances for the Tigers.
