Joining as part of Rubén Sellés' appointment as head coach, James Oliver-Pearce was announced as the club's assistant head coach in December 2024. 

Holding several positions at AFC Wimbledon's academy, including being the Under-18s head coach, Oliver-Pearce joined Reading in July 2022 after a decade with the Dons. 

As an assistant, Oliver-Pearce learned under Paul Ince, Noel Hunt and Sellés for a total of 127 competitive games at Reading.
