Under-18s’ striker Aidan Durkan has joined Northern Counties East Premier League side Beverley Town on a one-month work experience loan.

The second-year scholar has predominantly featured for the Under-18s this season under David Meyler and Mark Beard, starting six games, including all three Professional Development League Cup games against Bradford City, Doncaster Rovers and Barnsley respectively.

After netting in the final pre-season friendly against Rotherham United, the striker scored a brace in a 3-1 league win over Birmingham City in October 2024 before scoring a 96th-minute equaliser at The Den in the third round of the FA Youth Cup a month later against Millwall.

Beverley, who are under the management of David Ricardo, sit in the play-off positions in fourth place with 46 points accumulated after 26 games played.

Possessing a number of ex-City academy players including Bobby Attree, McCauley Snelgrove and Glen Sani to name a few, Durkan will be aiming to make his debut on Saturday 1 February when they travel to Manse Lane to face Knaresborough Town, KO: 3pm.

Professional Development Phase Coach David Meyler said: "I’m thrilled Aidan has been given the chance to go on loan to Beverley Town and we thank them for the opportunity.

"Aidan has a great work ethic and pushes himself daily to be better and we feel this opportunity has come at the right time in his development. It’ll be great for Aidan to experience men’s football and I’m looking forward to seeing him play."

We would like to wish Aidan the best of luck for his loan spell at Norwood Park!
