Hull City claimed a hard-earned point at home after a 3-3 draw against top-of-the-table Leeds United.
A brace from Abu Kamara, in-between João Pedro’s finish, saw the Tigers initially come from 3-1 down to draw 3-3.
Head Coach Rubén Sellés made two changes to his starting XI from the one that faced Middlesbrough on New Year’s Day. Matty Jacob and Kamara both came into the side, replacing Cody Drameh and Abdüş Ömür.
Five minutes into the fixture, City opened the scoring as a brilliant cross-field pass by Mason Burstow split the Leeds defence. Beating Maximillian Wöber for pace, Kamara cooly lofted his finish over the onrushing Illan Meslier to score his first City goal.
Leeds searched for an equaliser as minutes later, a great block by Sean McLoughlin on the goal line denied Joël Piroe, before Ivor Pandur produced a number of saves to keep Leeds out.

At the other end, Gustavo Puerta’s cross searched for Kamara at the front post. The ball evaded the winger as it fell kindly to Regan Slater at the back post, but the midfielder could only fire his effort off the post before Steven Alzate drilled the rebound wide.
After good hold-up play by Pedro, Jacob on the half-volley flashed a left footed attempt narrowly wide, while fellow defender Jayden Bogle forced Pandur into a smart stop at his near post.
A minute into the second half, Leeds equalised as Ao Tanaka’s precise finish from the edge of the area found the far top corner, beating the outstretched dive of Pandur. Jacob looked to put City back in-front, but his shot was saved by Meslier. Both teams searched for a lead as Brenden Aaronson’s cross was almost diverted in by Dan James, while Burstow tested Meslier from range with a curling effort.
It would be the visitors who would net a second past the hour mark as Manor Solomon’s deflected cross evaded everyone to find Bogle, who cut the ball back for James to rifle home first time.
Slater and Kamara both saw attempts blocked by the Leeds defence before the visitors netted a third. A loose pass from Pandur was intercepted by Piroe, who drove into the box before clinically finding the bottom corner with a low left-footed finish.
In the final 10 minutes, City pulled a goal back as Puerta’s free-kick was flicked on by McLoughlin. Meslier pushed the ball back into the path of Pedro who finished from close range.
Pandur saved well outside of his area with a header to deny James one-on-one before City equalised with a minute of normal time to go. Puerta’s corner was headed by Sam Byram into the path of Kamara, who fired his shot into the far corner past Meslier.
