We are delighted to announce that Stuart Elliott has become the next legend to be inducted into the Hull City Hall of Fame.

Elliott becomes the 12th inductee into the Hall of Fame, joining Ian Ashbee, Nick Barmby, Billy Bly, Raich Carter, Chris Chilton, Andy Davidson, Andy Dawson, Garreth Roberts, Pete Skipper, Ken Wagstaff and Dean Windass in the pantheon of all-time Tigers greats.

The Northern Irishman will be introduced to the MKM Stadium crowd as the newest member of our Hall of Fame ahead of the New Year's Day match against Middlesbrough.

Belfast-born Elliott won the Northern Irish league and cup with Glentoran and played in Scotland for Motherwell before joining City in July 2002 for a reported club-record fee of £230,000.

The forward made his debut in the 2002/03 season opener against Southend United, scoring his first goal in the 68th minute in a 2-2 draw.

An injury in his third start against Exeter City sidelined Elliott for two months. Upon his return, new manager Peter Taylor predominantly used the forward as an impact substitute before starting him from the left wing in January 2003. A strong finish of seven goals in nine starts brought a close to a solid first season in English football.

After finishing as the club’s top scorer in his debut campaign with 12, winning the club’s Player of the Year award, a return of 14 goals in 42 league outings saw Elliott become a key figure in the club’s first promotion in 19 years from the fourth tier.

Elliott took his goalscoring exploits to a new level during an exceptional 2004/05 campaign. Between October and December 2004, Elliott had a remarkable run of 13 starts that yielded 15 goals and 11 wins for the Tigers, including his only hat-trick for the club in a 6-1 thrashing of Tranmere Rovers.

An injury on New Year’s Day 2005 against Huddersfield kept Elliott out of the side for seven games, a period which yielded only one win. His return was pivotal in securing back-to-back promotions, adding a further six goals to take his tally to an impressive 27 league goals, winning a second club golden boot and Player of the Year award.

Featuring regularly in the first three months of 2005/06 as City looked to consolidate in the Championship, Elliott was less involved in the second half of the season but still contributed seven goals.

Selected mainly as a substitute for the rest of his time at City, Elliott left the Tigers in the early weeks of 2008 during the promotion run of 2007/08, bringing an end to his time at the club.

One of the club's most potent and clinical finishers since the turn of the century, the ex-Northern Ireland international later featured for Doncaster Rovers, Grimsby Town and Hamilton Academical before retiring at Stirling Albion in the 2010 close season. He came out of retirement with Glentoran in August 2012 before retiring again in March 2013.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to take part in this year’s Hall of Fame vote!
