Hull City came from behind to earn a point in the Sky Bet Championship with a 1-1 draw at home to Coventry City.
Abu Kamara’s equaliser nine minutes from time rescued a point for City at the MKM Stadium.
Head Coach Rubén Sellés made two changes to his starting XI from the one that faced Watford last time out. John Egan came into the heart of the defence for Alfie Jones, while ex-Coventry City midfielder Kasey Palmer faced his former side, replacing Matt Crooks.
The visitors had the first chance of the game as a corner delivery from Jack Rudoni was met by the head of Haji Wright. The American guided his header goal wards through a crowd of bodies, but Ivor Pandur was on hand to push the header away from goal. The Croatian shot-stopper denied Coventry again as Ellis Simms raced onto Liam Kitching’s long pass to volley towards goal, but Pandur blocked at his near post.
After City had a number of good crosses down the left from both Lincoln and Sean McLoughlin, Pandur produced another two stunning saves to keep the game goalless. Pandur got down low to hold Wright’s finish from Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, before Pandur acrobatically denied the American striker again at his near post.

Jay Dasilva was next to take aim with a low cross-shot, but Pandur again was equal to it. At the other end, Lincoln played in Regan Slater who in-turn squared the ball back for Palmer. His effort was cleared off the line by Matt Grimes before the midfielder blocked Palmer again from the rebound. Trying to scramble the ball off the line. Grimes’ third clearance hit Joel Latibeaudiere and behind for a corner.
A minute into the second half, Coventry took the lead. Matt Grimes’ volley took a wicked deflection off Charlie Hughes to wrong foot Pandur and find the bottom corner.
Coventry looked for a second quickly after as Pandur’s vital touch flicked Simms’ finish over the bar, before from the resulting corner by Rudoni, a header at the back post found Wright who guided his header onto the post.
The visitors continued to search for a second as Rudoni’s ball roll created the space for him to flash the ball across the six-yard area, with both Egan and Simms missing the ball as it went out harmlessly for a throw-in.
The Tigers then searched for an equaliser from a quick counter attack as Joe Gelhardt crossed the ball for Nordin Amrabat. The Moroccan international teed up fellow substitute Abu Kamara, but his first-time finish deflected wide off Latibeaudiere. From the resulting corner, Hughes and Slater linked up well as the latter cut the ball back for Lewie Coyle, but the captain blazed his first-time finish over the bar.
City equalised in the final 10 minutes as Amrabat’s cross-field pass released Kamara. The winger took one touch in the Coventry penalty area before firing his left-footed shot. The effort took a deflection off Jay Dasilva to wrong-foot Brad Collins to score.
In the latter stages of the game, Rudoni’s deflected effort from range was held by Pandur before the Croatian produced another big save in injury time, pushing away Milan van Ewijk.
