Hull City are delighted to announce that young goalkeeper Thimothée Lo-Tutala has signed a contract extension until 2028.

The 21-year-old, whose deal includes a club option of a further year, joined the Tigers in August 2022 and has been named on the first-team bench on 24 occasions.

In the last two seasons, the shot-stopper has gained experience on loan in League Two, firstly with Stevenage, where he kept three clean sheets in seven outings as Boro sealed runners-up spot.

He joined Doncaster Rovers in February and was a mainstay during their club record-equalling 10-game winning run that earned Grant McCann’s men a play-off place, recording nine shut-outs in 20 matches.

Capped by France at youth level, Gonesse-born Lo-Tutala was part of the Under-19s squad that reached the semi-finals of the 2022 European Under-19 Championship.

The custodian spent time in the academies of West Ham United, Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur, captaining their Under-18s, before moving to the MKM Stadium.

Lo-Tutala said: “It’s a big blessing. Thanks to God and for the club for having that faith and allowing me to stay here to improve and learn.

“When the club came to me about renewing, it was a no-brainer. I wanted to feel wanted and that’s what I feel.

“I’ve gained valuable experience that maybe I wouldn’t have gained at Spurs. The style of play has suited me in terms of playing out and breaking the press, getting on the ball.

“Both loans taught me how to deal with pressure and different types of players and coaches. At Stevenage, the style of play was completely different to Donny – you have to adapt so that was a big takeaway.

“The club is heading in the right direction and hopefully I can help in the near future.”
