Hull City are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder George Dickinson on a one-year deal, with the club holding the option of an extra year.
The 19-year-old featured for the Tigers’ Under-21 side on trial over the course of the 2023/24 season and will join officially on 1 July following the expiry of his contract at Sheffield United.
Lead Professional Development Phase Coach Conor Sellars said: “George trained with us for about 10 days and had two games within that period. As staff, we were really pleased with his performances in games, but also the character he had in training.
“He will be a massive part of the group heading into the new season. He has shown real leadership qualities. He is very aggressive out of possession and has great ability in possession. He is somebody we are really excited to work with and our style of play will improve him in certain areas.”

Dickinson signed his two-year scholarship with Sheffield United ahead of the 2021/22 development season after making his Under-18s debut for the Blades back in December 2020 away at Crewe Alexandra.
Called up to train for an England Under-17 camp in August 2021, the 19-year-old has featured for both Sheffield United’s Under-18 and Under-21 outfits, winning their respective Professional Development League North titles.
The midfielder also spent time out on loan at Alfreton Town at the beginning of this calendar year, registering an assist on debut as a substitute in a 2-0 away win over Darlington in National League North.

“I am very happy to get the deal over the line and I am ready to crack on now with the new season,” said Dickinson.
“I like the way we play. In the structure, there is a freedom where you can go and enjoy yourself. I like to get on the ball and dictate the game, show off my passing range, getting stuck into tackles and above anything else, working hard for the team.
“Conor (Sellars) has been brilliant. When I came here, he was very welcoming and made sure going into both games and in sessions, I knew what I was doing and while I have been away, he was ringing me up and checking how I was and making me feel reassured which I appreciated, and I am looking forward to working with him.
“Personally, I want to come into pre-season flying and fit. I have got to be able to earn opportunities; I know they are not going to be handed out. I want to be in and around the first team as much as I deserve in this coming season.”
