Left-back James Furlong has joined Sky Bet League Two side AFC Wimbledon on a season-long loan.

The 22-year-old Irishman signed from Brighton & Hove Albion last summer and provided an assist on his only competitive City appearance to date in January’s FA Cup third-round replay at Birmingham City.

The Wombles finished 10th under Johnnie Jackson in their second season back in the fourth tier, missing out on the play-offs by five points.

We wish James the best of luck for his time at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.
