Hull City are delighted to announce the signing of exciting winger Pharrell Brown from Sky Bet League One side Fleetwood Town for an undisclosed fee.
The 18-year-old has signed a two-year contract, with the club holding the option of an extra year.
Lead Professional Development Phase Coach Conor Sellars said: “I am thrilled about the signing of Pharrell. He is an exciting young professional and we will work hard to push him into the first team.
“We identified him as a key player to bring in, and thanks to the efforts of Emyr Humphreys (Head of Emerging Talent) and Richard Naylor (Academy Manager), we secured the deal.
“I am eager to start working with Pharrell. He is going a club known for its dynamic, attacking style of play, which makes for an enjoyable experience for any player. With Pharrell’s attacking ability, I am confident he will be an exciting player for everyone to watch.”

Born in Manchester, Brown began his youth career at Manchester United, progressing through their youth ranks before joining Fleetwood on a two-year scholarship in summer 2021.
A regular for the Cod Army’s Under-18 side, on Christmas Eve 2022, Brown joined Northern Premier League Division One West side Clitheroe on loan, making his debut on Boxing Day in a narrow 2-1 defeat away at Colne, coming on as a late substitute in his only appearance for the club.
Upon his return to Fleetwood, the winger was a key player in the team’s record-breaking FA Youth Cup run to the fifth round, scoring the winner in the third round against Bristol City before producing a man-of-the-match performance by netting twice in a 3-0 win over Middlesbrough in the next round.
Making his senior debut for Fleetwood in a 5-2 win over Accrington Stanley in League One in April 2023, Brown signed his first professional contract with the club, winning the Academy Players’ Player of the Year award. Being an unused substitute a further three times for the first team, the winger’s second and final senior appearance for the club came in the EFL Trophy, playing 61 minutes in a 4-0 group stage win over Leicester City Under-21s.

“I am happy to join the club. I think it has been a long time coming and I am just happy to finally get it over the line to join Hull City as it is a big club,” said Brown.
“I have seen the pathway the club produces. You see what Jarrod Bowen has gone on to do for example. He has gone on to do some amazing things at Hull and now at West Ham United and England so you see the pathway there.
“I was at Fleetwood with Xavier (Simons) last year. He is a top guy and he said he likes the club when I spoke to him previously about it. He enjoys it here and that was good for me.
“As a player, I like to express myself on the pitch, take on players and create opportunities for myself and my teammates. I now want to progress even further. Hopefully, I can be in and around the first team and just show the manager and the first team staff what I can do and just be the best person I can be both on-and-off the pitch.”
