Hull City can confirm that homegrown defender Jacob Greaves has completed a permanent move to Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee.
The Cottingham-born centre-back scored six goals and helped keep 56 clean sheets in 177 appearances for the Tigers after progressing through the club’s academy, having joined aged eight.
Captaining the Under-18s and penning his first professional contract in April 2019, he made his City debut the following September and excelled during our 2020/21 League One title triumph, featuring 41 times.
The 23-year-old played every minute of the 2021/22 Championship campaign and was appointed vice-captain ahead of 2022/23, ending the season by winning his third consecutive Young Player of the Year award.
The 6’4” centre-half capped an exceptional 2023/24 campaign with a place in the Championship Team of the Season and won our Player, Players’ Player and Supporters’ Player of the Year accolades.
We would like to thank Jacob for his hard work, dedication and contribution throughout his long association with the club and wish him all the best for the future.
