Hull City are delighted to announce the signing of defender Noah Wadsworth on a one-year deal, with the club holding the option of an extra year.

The 19-year-old featured as Trialist A in the Under-21s’ final game of the 2023/24 season, a 4-3 victory away at the Cardiff City Stadium against the Bluebirds, with the versatile defender being able to play across the entire of the defensive line.

Lead Professional Development League Phase Coach Conor Sellars said: "I am thrilled to welcome Noah to the club. During his trial, he impressed our staff, and we are excited to work closely with him moving forward.

"We had to act quickly to secure Noah, knowing other clubs were interested due to his impressive history, including his appearances in a League Two first team last season, at such a young age. He brings undeniable quality to our team, being both-footed, highly versatile, and an excellent athlete."

Wadsworth began his career at boyhood club Bradford City, progressing through their respected academy system before taking his first step into senior football with a work experience loan at Tadcaster Albion in February 2023, where he featured 11 times in the Northern Premier League East Division.

Signing his first professional contract with the Bantams ahead of the 2023/24 season, the 19-year-old joined National League North side Farsley Celtic in November 2023, keeping a clean sheet on debut in a goalless draw at home to Spennymoor Town.

Scoring goals against Banbury United and Bishop’s Stortford, the defender featured 11 times in the National League North for Farsley before being recalled by Bradford in February 2024.

Named amongst the substitutes in a Sky Bet League Two fixture against Sutton United and the EFL Trophy semi-final defeat against Wycombe Wanderers, Wadsworth made his senior debut for Bradford when replacing Kevin McDonald in the 86th minute in a league match away at Harrogate Town on 23 February 2024.

Being an unused substitute twice more, the 19-year-old made his second and final senior appearance for Bradford as a substitute in a 1-0 home win over Gillingham, replacing Bobby Pointon in second-half injury time.

“I am delighted to join the club. It is a big club and hopefully I can break into the first team,” said Wadsworth.

“I enjoyed my trial. It was different to what I was used to playing, but I really enjoyed it. It is a good set of lads and they’re all decent players.

“It is good to have some familiar faces, especially having Conor (Sellars) and Billy (Clarke). I have known Conor since Under-14s level. They are two great coaches who will help me develop.

“I enjoyed my time at Bradford. It is a good club to develop at and the loan spells were good too for my development. I am very proud to play in the first team and now I’m at Hull and I want to see what I can do.”
