Hull City can confirm the appointments of James Oliver-Pearce as assistant head coach and Tobias Loveland as first-team coach.

The duo worked alongside head coach Rubén Sellés at Reading in the roles of first-team coach and first-team technical coaching assistant respectively.

Oliver-Pearce, 33, joined the Royals in July 2022 after a decade with AFC Wimbledon, holding several positions in the Dons’ academy, including Under-18s head coach, before moving into the senior set-up.

“I’m really excited for this opportunity,” he said. “Rubén has been unbelievable to work with; his level of detail, thoroughness and the way he treats everyone, from players to staff members, is excellent.

“We know what this squad is capable of, the history of the club and where it aspires to be – and we want to help the club get there.”

Loveland, 33, reunited with Sellés at Reading having worked together at Southampton, where he was senior technical analyst after joining Saints in 2018 following four years with Bristol City.

“I’m delighted to be here and to work with an exciting group of players with plenty of potential and opportunity to develop,” he added.

“First and foremost, Rubén is a fantastic human; I appreciate him as a friend and the opportunity he has given me to learn. His football knowledge is outstanding, his life experience is huge.

“He is a great person to work with and we are looking forward to our journey with Hull City.”
