Hull City are delighted to announce the signing of attacking midfielder Kasey Palmer from Coventry City for an undisclosed fee.
The 27-year-old, who has signed a three-year deal with a club option of a further year, has made two shy of 200 Championship appearances for six different clubs.
His first experience of the second tier came on loan at Huddersfield Town from Chelsea in 2016/17, making 27 appearances as the Terriers secured a historic promotion to the Premier League.
He had further loan spells away from Stamford Bridge with Derby County, where he reached the 2017/18 play-offs, Blackburn Rovers and Bristol City, whom he joined permanently in August 2019.
The versatile midfielder scored eight goals in 79 appearances during his time at Ashton Gate, which included a loan at Swansea City, before signing for Coventry City in June 2022.
Netting nine goals and providing 13 assists in two years, Lewisham-born Palmer was part of the Sky Blues squad that reached the 2022/23 Championship play-off final and last season’s FA Cup semi-finals.
He played for England up to Under-21s, with whom he won the 2016 Toulon Tournament, before electing to represent Jamaica and has earned nine caps, including three at the 2024 Copa América.
Palmer said: “I’m buzzing that it’s finally done and all agreed and I can’t wait to get going.
“The owner is ambitious and the club has shown its ambition with the signings they’ve made. Hopefully, it can go in a positive way this year and we can achieve what we want to achieve.
“With my experience, it’s time to play that senior role and try to help the young lads. I’m at that stage of my career to be that influence in the dressing room.
“I’m a creative midfielder who tries to create goals and score goals. I try to bring creativity in the final third.
“The gaffer is quite aggressive with what he wants to do on the ball so if I can bring what I know I can, I think we’ll get on quite well.
“I want to participate with as many goals, assists and overall performances as possible and help the team get as high as we can up the table.”
