Hull City are delighted to announce the arrival of Swiss shot-stopper Anthony Racioppi from Young Boys for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old has signed a three-year deal, with a club option of a further year, to become the Tigers’ fourth summer recruit.

The Geneva-born keeper won two Swiss Super League titles and one Swiss Cup during a two-and-a-half-year spell with Young Boys, for whom he kept 17 clean sheets in 53 appearances.

He featured 25 times during their 2022/23 double-winning campaign and started two Champions League qualifiers and five group stage games last term, including both matches against Manchester City.

Progressing through Lyon’s academy, Racioppi played 41 times for their B team before moving to fellow French club Dijon, where 21 of his 25 outings came in Ligue 1.

The 6’2” custodian earned caps for Switzerland at Under-20 and Under-21 level and was named in the senior squad for three of the Red Crosses’ Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Racioppi said: “This is a great stadium and I hope to play very fast because I am excited to stay here.

“Young Boys was a very good experience. We played in the Champions League and had a perfect season winning the cup and league. I played a lot of games and I was very happy to win trophies.

“It was a great experience to play in the Champions League. As a footballer, you want to play in these games – the best games in my career. My dream is to play for the Swiss national team.

“England is the best country for playing football and Hull City is a very good club with good ambition. I am excited to see the fans and I hope on Saturday (against Bristol City) we can get our first win in the league.”

Welcome, Anthony!
