Hull City suffered a 3-1 against Yorkshire rivals Leeds United in the Sky Bet Championship.
Fábio Carvalho’s fifth City goal cancelled out Sam Byram’s opener in the first half, but a late converted penalty by Crysencio Summerville and stoppage-time finish by Dan James saw Leeds win all three points at Elland Road.
Prior to the fixture, both teams participated in a minute’s applause to remember Leeds’ supporters Chris Loftus & Kevin Speight who died tragically away in Istanbul on 5 April 2000. There was also an applause in the 24th minute to remember them 24 years on.

Head Coach Liam Rosenior made three changes to his starting XI to the one that faced Stoke City on Good Friday. Sean McLoughlin, Noah Ohio and Anass Zaroury all came out of the starting team as Tyler Morton, Ozan Tufan and Abdüş Ömür came in.
The hosts opened the scoring early on as Georginio Rutter evaded a number of challenges before finding Summerville. The winger evaded the efforts of Regan Slater before testing Ryan Allsop. The ball flew into the air, with Byram reacting quickest to head home the rebound at the back post after nine minutes.
Patrick Bamford should have doubled Leeds’ lead as former Tiger James picked out the run of the striker, but Bamford somehow fired over from five yards, before Ryan Giles’ delivery found Abdüş, who could not connect on the cross before later finding out he was offside.
The Tigers controlled possession as Jaden Philogene first saw a cross dealt with by the leg of Illan Meslier before the winger then saw a later strike blocked by Joe Rodon. From the resulting block, Tyler Morton drove onto the loose ball first and skipped away down the left wing. The midfielder delivered a left-footed cross towards the front post for his fellow Liverpool loanee Carvalho to convert first time past Meslier.
Both left-backs tried to put their respective sides ahead as Junior Firpo saw his effort charged down by both Jean Michaël Seri and Lewie Coyle before Giles fired over after winning the ball originally inside his own half.
In injury-time, Allsop produced a stunning back-to-back saves to deny Rutter twice in quick succession as half-time saw the teams head in level at 1-1.
In the second half, Byram’s dangerous cross flashed across everyone in the Tigers’ penalty area before Philogene curled a right-footed strike just narrowly wide past the post and a fully-stretched Meslier.

Tufan then headed over from Giles’ cross before Abdüş nearly found a second for City. Substitute Matty Jacob managed to poke the ball towards the middle of the pitch for Morton. Breaking on the counter, Morton teed up Abdüş in the Leeds penalty area, but the Turkish international curled his left-footed attempt narrowly wide, with Meslier left stranded in the Leeds goal.
It was end-to-end action as Leeds had a penalty appeal waved away after Archie Gray went down under the challenge of Seri before Philogene’s dipping drive flew over the bar.
Firpo and Summerville then linked up well down the left flank as Firpo cut the ball back for substitute Mateo Joseph, who hit the post with his first-time finish. The rebound eventually found its way to Firpo, but the Dominican Republic international could only guide his header wide.
With a few minutes of normal time left to play, Leeds received a penalty as Summerville was brought down by Regan Slater. Summerville stepped up and dispatched the spot-kick himself by rolling the ball down the middle to convert.
With the Tigers pushing for a late equaliser in injury time, which saw goalkeeper Allsop upfield for a corner, Zaroury saw his effort blocked before Leeds broke down the right wing. James fired his shot from distance on the wing, which found the far corner from range.
