Hull City made it six games unbeaten as they played out a goalless draw against Leeds United.

Ryan Allsop produced a string of impressive saves as the points were shared at the M, with the visitors being reduced to 10-men after Joe Rodon’s dismissal.

Liam Rosenior made two changes to his starting XI that drew against Coventry City last time out. Allsop was handed his Hull City debut in-between the sticks for Matt Ingram while Cyrus Christie replaced Rúben Vinagre. There was also a welcome return to bench for Ozan Tufan who recovered from injury.

Both teams had half chances within the opening 10 minutes of the game as ex-Hull City Academy player Dan James hit the side netting before Regan Slater saw his effort closed down by a number of Leeds’ defenders.

There were penalty appeals waved away by referee Stephen Martin after Jaden Philogene thought he was brought down by Luke Ayling before Leeds raced down the other end with a quick counter attack. Substitute Crysencio Summerville threaded the ball through for Georginio Rutter, but his one-on-one was brilliantly saved by the onrushing Allsop.

The City debutant made another fine stop to deny Summerville after the Dutch winger cut inside and rifled an effort for the top corner. Liam Delap saw his strike cannon off Pascal Strujik before Alfie Jones blocked Archie Gray’s effort moments later.

Prior to the end of the first half, another quick fluid Leeds’ move saw Summerville once again take aim, but Allsop acrobatically pushed the winger’s volley wide of his left-hand post. Gray then curled his finish wide as the first half ended goalless.

Fresh from the restart, two blocks in quick succession by Jacob Greaves and Alfie Jones shut Leeds out while Allsop held James’ low shot from range. The Tigers had a nother penalty appeal waved away after Delap felt he was brought down unfairly before Ayling then blasted over from a tight angle for the visitors.

On the hour mark, the visitors were reduced to 10-men as Joe Rodon received a second yellow card for a professional foul on Aaron Connolly. From this moment, the Tigers started to craft more opportunities as Delap capitalised on Liam Cooper’s slip and drilled a powerful low cross across for Connolly, but the Irish striker narrowly missed the delivery.

His Leeds counterpart Rutter drilled a low finish wide before Jason Lokilo’s cross-shot was parried by Illan Meslier before fellow substitute Adama Traoré hit the post from close range after the ball was squared to him by Connolly.
