By Hull City

Hull City had six players out on international duty. Here, we take a look at how our Tigers got on with their respected countries.

Liam Delap (England U21s)

We start our international round-up with Liam Delap who netted on his Three Lions debut for the Under-21s in their U21 Euro qualifier against Luxembourg. Starting the fixture at Stade de la Ville de Differdange, Delap gave Lee Carsley’s men a 1-0 lead at half-time when he diverted Cole Palmer’s pass from close range.

Palmer would get on the scoresheet along with Callum Doyle in the 3-0 victory, with Delap being substituted in the 63rd-minute, as England sit top of Group F after matchday one.

Allahyar Sayyadmanesh (Iran U23s)

Another goalscorer during this international break is Allahyar Sayyadmanesh as he netted twice for Iran U23s in their Asian Cup group fixtures. Coming on as a 61st-minute substitute in the first fixture in Hong Kong against China, Allahyar netted Iran’s third goal of the fixture with two minutes left to play in a 3-0 victory.

In the second game against Afghanistan, Allahyar captained the team and netted the third goal of the fixture in a 4-0 victory at the Lokomotiv Stadium. Starting the third fixture against Uzbekistan, the striker was substituted on the 48th-minute in the 1-0 defeat.

Jean Michaël Seri (Ivory Coast)

Captaining his country for the first time, Jean Michaël Seri played the full game in Ivory Coast’s 1-0 victory over Lesotho at the Stade Olympique Alassane Quattara. Nottingham Forest’s summer signing Ibrahim Sangaré scored the only goal of the game.

In the second game against Mali, the game was abandoned at half-time due to the weather conditions, with Seri being on the bench from the start.

Adama Traoré (Mali)

In the fixture against Ivory Coast, Adama Traoré was also named amongst the substitutes in the abandoned fixture.

The attacking midfielder was also an unused substitute in their Group F AFCON qualification fixture against South Sudan. Mali won the fixture at the Stade Modibo Kéita 4-0, courtesy of a brace from Kamory Doumbia and finishes from Ibrahima Koné and Dorgeles Nene.

Aaron Connolly (Republic of Ireland)

Striker Aaron Connolly earned his first senior cap for Republic of Ireland since 2021 as he featured as a substitute in their 2-0 defeat European qualifier against France. Finishes in each half from Aurélien Tchouaméni and Marcus Thuram saw France reign victorious at the Parc des Princes.

Connolly came on the 78th-minute for ex-Hull City frontman Will Keane to earn his ninth senior cap for his country. The 23-year-old was an unused substitute in the second Group B fixture against Netherlands.

James Furlong (Republic of Ireland U21s)

In the age group below for Ireland, new signing James Furlong earned two caps for the Under-21s in their UEFA European Championship qualifiers against Türkiye and San Marino.

Coming on in second-half stoppage-time, Furlong and Ireland won the fixture against Türkiye 3-2 courtesy of a 96th-minute winner from Millwall’s Aidomo Emakhu.

Furlong played the full game against San Marino, with Ireland winning 3-0 in the fixture courtesy of a brace from Celtic’s Rocco Vata and an own goal from Giacomo Matteoni with Ireland currently sitting top of Group A after two games played.
