Hull City secured a win heading into the November international break after defeating Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town at the MKM Stadium.

Liam Delap's stoppage-time finish saw City record a first victory over the Terriers since 2015 and secure all three points in the Sky Bet Championship.

Head Coach Liam Rosenior made one change to his starting XI to the one that faced West Bromwich Albion last time out. Jaden Philogene replaced the injured Adama Traoré while Ozan Tufan made his 50th league appearance for the club.

Prior to the game, both teams observed a minute’s silence for Remembrance Day, to honour and remember all those that have been lost to conflict.

The first shot on target came from the visitors as Kyle Hudlin was played through, but his tame finish was comfortably gathered by Ryan Allsop. Meanwhile, Matty Pearson slid in to block Scott Twine’s drive after the midfielder was set up well by Tufan’s clever backheel.

Philogene saw an effort deflect wide off Tom Lees before Sorba Thomas curled a low strike just narrowly wide past Allsop’s left-hand post. In the other goal, Lee Nicholls parried Philogene’s dipping drive from distance before Jean Michaël Seri placed his finish the wrong side of the post from the resulting corner.

Past the 30 minute mark, Tufan tried his luck from range, but Nicholls once again was on hand to beat the ball away as City continued to search for the opener.

Early in the second half, Delap wasted a great opportunity after a clever free-kick by Twine found the striker, but the finish went wide of the post. After a double substitution, Delap raced down the right wing before squaring the ball back for Twine, who fired wide with his first-time finish.

Nicholls was then called into action to push Tufan’s flicked header over the bar, after the striker had been found from Philogene’s lofted pass. From the resulting corner, the ball made its way out to Tyler Morton, who struck over from distance.

Substitute Rúben Vinagre came close with a chance before the Tigers got the winner in the second minute of stoppage-time.

Philogene's cross fell kindly for Delap, who placed his finish past the outstretched hand of Nicholls and, with the help of the inside of the post, saw the ball hit the back of the net.
