Under-21s defender Jake Leake has joined League Two side Tranmere Rovers on a season-long loan deal.
The 20-year-old has signed a new contract with the Tigers, penning a fresh one-year deal with the club option of an extra 12 months, before linking up with the Merseyside club.
The Hull-born left-back first joined his hometown club at Under-12s level, going through the academy ranks and signing his first professional contract in October 2020.
Making 11 appearances in two separate loan spells at Boston United in the 2021/22 season, Leake spent the latter half of last season on loan at National League side Scunthorpe United.
Despite the Iron suffering relegation, Leake featured 16 times for Scunthorpe, scoring his first professional goal in a 4-1 victory over Wealdstone.
The defender featured in both of the first-team’s pre-season fixtures in Türkiye, as well as our first domestic friendly against Grimsby Town.
Tranmere, currently under the management of Ian Dawes, finished 12th last season in League Two, winning 15 games and finishing the campaign with 58 points.
We would like to wish Jake all the best in his loan spell at Tranmere.
