Hull City are delighted to announce the loan signing of attacking midfielder Dimitrios Pelkas from Turkish Süper Lig side Fenerbahçe.
The loan is for the duration of the 2022/23 campaign.
He began his career in his homeland of Greece with PAOK, making his professional debut on the 2nd August 2012 in the Europa League against Israeli side Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv. In the reverse leg, the 28-year-old scored his first professional goal in a 4-1 home win.
After spending time out on loan in his native country with Apollo Kalamarias, scoring seven goals and registering five assists in 17 league appearances, he then made the move to Portugal with Vitória the following season.
The attacking midfielder returned to PAOK for the 2015/16 season, where he scored nine goals and registered seven assists in 49 games for the club.
Pelkas won his first major tournament the following season, winning the first of three Greek Cup titles. Winning the prestigious competition a further two times in a row, the 28-year-old also helped the club win the double for the 2018/19 season when winning the Super League Greece title.
The 28-year-old left PAOK in October 2020 to join Fenerbahçe on an initial three-year contract. He made 201 appearances for PAOK, scoring 44 goals and registering 32 assists.
Pelkas netted on his Fenerbahçe debut, being assisted by current Hull City midfielder Ozan Tufan, in a 3-2 away win against Göztepe S.K.
With the Turkish giants, the attacking midfielder scored 13 goals and registered eight assists in 67 appearances.
Internationally, Pelkas has represented Greece at Under-19, Under-20, Under-21 and senior level, with coach Konstantinos Tsanas handing him in his debut at all levels.
Making 11 caps at youth level, he currently has 26 caps at senior level for his country after making his first cap in October 2015.
He has scored one goal for his country, netting in a 2-0 away victory over Georgia in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
