On Tuesday 19th of July, two members of the Tigers Trust team will aim to complete an ultramarathon to conclude the organisation’s fundraising efforts for its 30th anniversary year.
The challenge will see Alex Lisney (Primary Stars Lead) and Richard Dexter (Head of Programmes) attempt to run 30 miles across the Hull and East Yorkshire region.
Starting at the Tigers Trust Arena at 8:30am, Alex and Richard will pass ten of the Trust’s partnered Premier League Primary Star schools along the way.
We are encouraging schools to get involved on the day by wearing black and amber, to both support the duo and to further increase fundraising.
Donations raised from this challenge will go towards the charity’s Health and Wellbeing Fund which will help to support more children, young people and adults to engage in a range of Trust activity.
In the 2020/21 season alone, the charity helped support 28,516 people across Hull and East Yorkshire through our various programmes
Speaking about the challenge, Richard said: “I wanted to take part in a fundraising event that would really test me physically and mentally and importantly raise funds for the Tigers Trust.
“We tell our participants that with the attitude and hard work you can achieve anything you want in life and running an ultramarathon certainly evidences that.
“It will be great to visit many of our partner schools along the route and seeing so many children cheering us on and wearing black and amber will definitely give us the extra motivation to complete it.”
