Midfielder Regan Slater is determined to finish the 2021/22 campaign with a positive result as the Tigers face Nottingham Forest at the MKM Stadium.
Shota Arevladze’s men come into the closing fixture on the end of a heavy away defeat against Bristol City, but Slater is aiming to put their wrongs right as the Tigers look to make it three straight wins at home.
“As a team, we weren’t good enough (against Bristol City) and that has been discussed,” said Slater.
“We’ve got such a good group of lads and everyone dusted themselves off pretty quickly after that result and we’re all focused on this fixture.
“We’ve looked at this game as an opportunity to put things right from last week and that’s the aim and hopefully we can finish the season properly.
“All we want to do is concentrate on us and our game. Hopefully we can put in a good performance and a good result will come with it.”
The 22-year-old has made 15 appearances since signing permanently from Sheffield United, with Slater happy that he is featuring regularly as he looks ahead to next season.
“I’ve loved every second of it to be honest; it has been so refreshing to be playing week in, week out in the Championship,” explained Slater.
“I think once I had that run of games, I would like to think I was putting in them performances and helping the team get results along the way.
“It’s nice to know that I’ll be coming back here in the summer and it gives me the opportunity to just switch off for a little bit, before I get my head down and start working again in pre-season.”
