Loan Watch: Jarvis scores on Scarborough debut

21 March 2022

We currently have 12 players out on loan; here we take a look at how they are getting on…

Will Jarvis at Scarborough Athletic:

The forward made a goalscoring debut in a 2-1 victory over Atherton Collieries in the Northern Premier League. Jarvis netted the game’s opener on 70 minutes with a low strike into the bottom corner, before Atherton equalised six minutes later. However, Jake Day put Scarborough back in front five minutes later as the Seadogs made it 13 league games unbeaten.

Harry Fisk at Tadcaster Albion:

Goalkeeper Harry Fisk produced a string of impressive saves as he helped Tadcaster secure a vital point in a goalless draw against play-off chasing Worksop Town. His performance included an incredible double save in the 78th minute to deny Aaron Sennett-Neilson and Liam Hardy, with Tadcaster currently 15th in the Northern Premier League East Division.

Louis Beckett & Oliver Green at Bridlington Town:

One position lower in the same league, midfield duo Louis Beckett and Oliver Green made their full debuts for Bridlington Town in a 2-0 away defeat against Frickley. It was Green’s first appearance for the Seasiders while Beckett has featured twice, after coming on as a first-half substitute in a goalless draw against Stocksbridge Park Steels a week prior.

Jevon Mills at Falkirk:

North of the border, Jevon Mills earned a clean sheet as Falkirk defeated Dumbarton 2-0 away from home. It was the Republic of Ireland Under-19 international’s sixth appearance for the Bairns, as first-half goals from Jaze Kabia and Charlie Telfer earned Martin Rennie’s side all three points in the Scottish League One.

Ahmed Salam at Linfield:

In Northern Ireland, Ahmed Salam played 65 minutes as Linfield demolished Dungannon Swifts 5-0. Finnish striker Eetu Vertainen netted four of the five goals for the Blues, who sit top of the NIFL Premiership table, four points clear of second-placed Cliftonville.

Josh Hinds at Gainsborough Trinity:

Returning closer to home, Josh Hinds made his Gainsborough Trinity debut as they played out a goalless draw against Nantwich Town. The forward played 57 minutes before being replaced by Toby Gould as 472 fans attended the fixture at the Gainsborough Martin & Co Arena.

Andy Smith & Callum Jones at Grimsby Town:

Defender Andy Smith helped Grimsby Town keep a clean sheet in their goalless stalemate away to Boreham Wood. It was Smith’s seventh appearance for the club, while Jones’ last appearance for the Mariners came in a 2-0 victory at Yeovil Town earlier this month.

Harry Lovick at Pickering Town:

Returning to the Northern Premier League East Division, Lovick played 66 minutes of Pickering Town’s 5-1 defeat against Brighouse Town. The Pikes were reduced to 10 men on 25 minutes as Brighouse produced a clinical performance to earn the three points.

Matty Jacob at Gateshead:

Full-back Matty Jacob missed out on Gateshead’s most recent fixture, a 2-1 win over Boston United. The Heed are three points clear at the top of National League North, with Jacob making his 31st and most recent appearance in a 1-1 draw against AFC Telford United last month.

James Scott at Hibernian:

Finishing in Scotland, James Scott was not named in the squad as 10-man Hibernian suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Aberdeen. The forward has made 11 appearances for Hibs in all competitions, with his last one coming as a second-half substitute in a 2-0 home victory over Ross County in February.
