Midfielder Greg Docherty is determined to end the season strongly as the Tigers prepare to face Birmingham City at St Andrew's.
Shota Arveladze’s men have the opportunity to leapfrog the Blues in the Championship table with victory and the midfielder is keen to end the campaign with a flourish.
“We have 10 games left of the season and it’s a really big opportunity for all of us,” said the 25-year-old.
“It so happens that Birmingham are close to us in the league table and the opportunity to go above them is there, but to us it’s just another game.
“It’s almost like a mini season to really stamp our authority and put the talking on the pitch; I’m really looking forward to the game.
“It’s the business end of the season and there’s no reason why we can’t go and put ourselves in a decent position.”
The Scottish midfielder has started the Tigers' last two matches - a 3-0 victory at Peterborough United in the last away game and, most recently, a 2-0 home defeat to West Bromwich Albion.
And Docherty says the team have been working hard on the training ground to put things right.
“I feel like it is the nature of this league - there are no guarantees,” added Docherty.
“We’ve got to believe in what you do day-to-day. We’re a good honest group and we still believe in what we want to achieve.
“West Brom came into the game off the back of a few negative results, but if you look at their starting XI, they’re a team made of seasoned pros in the Championship with some Premier League players.
“We probably shot ourselves in the foot as you can’t give them a sniff and that’s something we need to learn from.
“There are 10 games left and Saturday is massive for us. It’s a big week coming up with three games and it’s the perfect opportunity to put the West Brom result behind us.”
