Shota Arveladze told his players not to be disheartened after the 2-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion.
A Karlan Grant double handed ex-City chief Steve Bruce his first win as Baggies boss and consigned the Tigers to a fourth consecutive home reverse.
“I tried to tell the boys to keep their chins up,” said Arveladze.
“We didn’t play badly. We didn’t deserve 2-0. We stayed in the game and the second goal kills it a little bit. One small mistake made the game much harder.
“We had some very good parts of the game which made me satisfied, that we can build on.
“We had good chances and played out well, which didn’t end with a final shot or final pass. It will come – I hope soon.
“There are a lot of points to get and it was very important to tell the boys (to keep their) chin up again, get good rest tomorrow and be back Monday and we go forward.”
