Arveladze expecting ‘tough’ test against Huddersfield

30 March 2022

Ahead of facing Huddersfield Town, Shota Arveladze says his players still have a lot to play for with seven games remaining of the Championship season.

Having not been in action since the defeat against Luton Town due to the international break, the Tigers will be looking to begin the final run of games by picking up a positive result against the fourth-placed Terriers.

“It’s given the boys time to rest which was very important for the whole group,” said Arveladze.

“It’s been good to have a small break. We’ve had good sessions where we’ve been able to do a little bit more than we’ve done previously.

“We’ve got seven games to go and a lot of points to play for.”

Four players who were still in action over the two-week break were Keane Lewis-Potter, Harvey Cartwright, Allahyar Sayyadmanesh and Marcus Forss. Arveladze believes the experience of representing their countries can benefit them as players.

“It’s great (to see),” explained Arveladze.

“It’s an honour for them. We want to congratulate them and already wished them all the best.

“You get so much energy and positivity from being around the best players for your own country. This is an experience that they have to (continue to) get.”

The Terriers are pushing for promotion to the Premier League after impressing under the management of Carlos Corberán, and will be determined to respond to back-to-back defeats from before the international break.

“They’ve done well for the whole season,” added Arveladze.

“They’re a very good, organised team who play different systems. They are good offensively with a lot of good, creative players.

“We’ll have a tough game. We’ll prepare and look at where we can hurt them in this game.”
