Moncur joins Leyton Orient

29 June 2022

Hull City can confirm the departure of midfielder George Moncur to League Two side Leyton Orient on a permanent deal.

Joining from Luton Town last summer, the 28-year-old made his Hull City debut in the 4-1 opening day victory against Preston North End, assisting Richie Smallwood for the second goal.

George would claim another assist in the following game against Wigan Athletic in the EFL Cup, before registering his third and final assist for the Tigers in the 3-2 extra-time FA Cup third round defeat against Everton. Having been brought on as a 63rd minute substitute, the midfielder teed up Ryan Longman’s equaliser to make it 2-2 which would go on to be voted our Uber Eats Goal of the Season.

Overall, Moncur made 16 appearances for the Tigers and will join Richie Wellens’ Orient, who finished 13th in League Two last season.

We would like to thank George for his contributions in a Hull City shirt and wish him well in his future career.
