Cambridge and Peterborough friendlies confirmed

17 June 2022

Hull City will visit League One sides Cambridge United and Peterborough United in pre-season.

Both friendlies will be played on Saturday 23rd July, with kick-off at the Abbey Stadium at 12 noon and the second game at the Weston Homes Stadium kicking off at 4pm.

Shota Arveladze will split his squad between the two matches to give every player game time ahead of our Championship season opener the following week.

Mark Bonner’s U’s recorded their highest league finish in 28 years after placing 14th last term in their first season back in the third tier following promotion as League Two runners-up.

Jason Price and Danny Allsopp scored the Tigers’ goals in a 2-0 success on our last visit to Cambridge during the early stages of our 2003/04 Third Division promotion campaign.

Posh, managed by our 2020/21 League One title-winning boss Grant McCann, suffered relegation from the Championship after finishing third from bottom, four points from safety.

Keane Lewis-Potter starred when the teams met in February, scoring twice in a 3-0 win in McCann’s first match back at Peterborough, and also netted in a 3-1 top-of-the-table triumph the season prior.

Both games will be available on iFollow Tigers. Streaming details and ticketing information will be confirmed in due course.
