Walsh arrives on loan

31 January 2022

Hull City are delighted to announce the arrival of midfielder Liam Walsh on loan from fellow Championship side Swansea City until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old has made seven appearances for the Welsh club this season and came on against the Tigers on Saturday, hitting the post with a curling free-kick.

Joining Everton at five years of age, Huyton-born Walsh spent 15 years at Goodison Park and represented England at youth level.

The diminutive midfielder enjoyed loan spells with Yeovil Town and Birmingham City before signing for Bristol City, where he made 22 appearances.

His most successful season to date came on loan at Coventry City during the curtailed 2019/20 campaign.

Scoring four goals in 34 matches, Walsh was named in the PFA Team of the Year after helping the Sky Blues win the League One title.

He completed a permanent transfer to Swansea in the summer and has made a total of 85 career appearances.

The loan move is subject to international clearance.
