After being named Uber Eats Player of the Month for December, Sean McLoughlin says he is determined to build on his recent performances.
The 25-year-old defender has had to be patient for his opportunity at the MKM Stadium, but having started the last eight games in all competitions, McLoughlin is keen to retain his place in the team.
“I’ve got into the team recently, but I just want to build on that and stay in the team,” said McLoughlin.
“As a player, all you want to do is play week in, week out. It’s frustrating when you aren’t involved but you just have to stick at it and wait for your chance. I have shown that I can play at this level.”
Ahead of this weekend’s game against Stoke City, McLoughlin says it is imperative that the team give the home support something to celebrate as a reward for the backing shown this season.
“We have been good at home and I think it’s important if you want to do anything in this league that you have good home form,” added McLoughlin.
“Our next two games are at home so we’re hoping to continue our good form and get two wins to reward the fans for their support.
“Stoke have some really good players and have had some fantastic results throughout the league which sees them pushing for play-offs. We saw the quality they have when we went to their place a few months ago.
“I think we’re a different team to when we played them last because we’ve had some really good results since then.”
