Hull City are delighted to announce the signing of Ryan Longman from Brighton & Hove Albion for an undisclosed fee.
The versatile 21-year-old has penned a three-and-a-half-year deal to remain at the MKM Stadium on a permanent basis, with a club option of a further year.
Playing predominantly at wing-back, Redhill-born Longman has shone since joining the Tigers on loan at the start of the season.
He has made 20 appearances in all competitions and been an important figure in City’s rise up the Championship table, scoring four goals in his last 10 outings.
Netting a close-range winner against Millwall, he bent in a delightful effort against Bristol City and scored a spectacular left-footed curler in the FA Cup third-round tie against Everton.
His most recent goal was another stunning strike as he cut inside and rifled into the top corner to secure a 1-0 victory at AFC Bournemouth.
The former AFC Wimbledon loanee has also provided a club-best four assists, setting up both goals in the impressive 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers.
Longman said: “I’m ecstatic – really glad I’ve got it over the line.
“A big thank you to my agency and Brighton for the last 10-11 years and I’m looking forward to the next step in my career.
“The past six, seven months here have been brilliant. I’m building more confidence game by game and results are going our way as well.
“Hopefully, I can keep putting some goals and assists away and help the team out whatever way I can.
“I’m very happy with the goals I’ve scored recently and I’m just glad we’re getting the points on the board.
“I want to help us climb up the table, try and push on and get the Tigers where they should be.
“I can’t wait to see all the fans on Saturday at the MKM and hopefully we can get another three points.”
Ryan will continue to be sponsored by Tilson Scaffolding for the rest of the 2021/22 season.
