Hull City are delighted to confirm the appointment of Peter van der Veen as the club’s new assistant head coach.

The 49-year-old will support head coach Shota Arveladze and work closely with the other members of the Tigers’ backroom staff.

The Dutchman has considerable coaching pedigree, having worked with the Netherlands national team’s Under-15 to Under-20 age groups, leading the Under-17s to European Championship glory in 2019.

The UEFA Pro Licence coach has experience at club level with Dutch giants Ajax and Sparta Rotterdam’s youth teams and managed Belgium second-tier side Lommel SK in his most recent role.

Van der Veen said: “Ever since I was a kid, I’ve watched English football and it’s a dream come true to work in England.

“I will assist the head coach and, together with the other staff, make sure the head coach is well informed about everything.

“It’s a group that want to work hard and I will be there to help the players individually, analyse them and create sessions with the other staff to prepare them for matches.”
