Defender Jacob Greaves says the team cannot afford to be too hard on themselves after their three-game winning run came to an end against Preston North End.
The Tigers were beaten 1-0 by Ryan Lowe’s Lilywhites at the MKM Stadium, with Cameron Archer scoring the winning goal for the visitors just six minutes into the second half.
“It’s disappointing to have lost 1-0,” said Greaves after the defeat.
“I think it was a good finish, but we’ll have to look at the goal and see where we can improve and go from there.
“We won three games in a row before this so we can’t get too down - football is full of highs and lows. We’ve just got to pick ourselves up and go again.
“It’s just a bit of quality for the goal. It was a good ball and a good run, and unfortunately, we’ve dropped points.”
The 21-year-old centre-back has been an ever-present in the Championship this season, and has picked up a lot of plaudits for his performances for the Tigers.
Greaves is now fully focused on helping the team end the season strongly.
“I’m loving it,” added Greaves.
“I feel fitter and stronger with every game. I’ve loved playing in the Championship so far this season and hopefully I’ve got many more games to play.
“I haven’t missed a game yet all season so I’m hoping to just carry on performing well. I’ve loved it and hopefully we can get a few more decent results towards the end of the season.”
