An in-depth look at the career of our 11th summer recruit, Salah-Eddine Oulad M’Hand…

Born in Den Haag, Holland, the 19-year-old started his youth career at Feyernoord. In the 2018/19 season, the midfielder made 22 appearances for the club’s Under-17 side, featuring in the Preliminary Round U17 Eredivise and the U17 Divisie 1 Spring.

Making four more appearances for the Under-17s the following campaign, Oulad M’Hand made 11 appearances for the Under-19s side. Featuring in the Under-19 Eredivsie, the 19-year-old netted his first goal at Under-19s’ level in a 1-1 draw against Ajax.

In the same season, he also made a sole appearance for their respected Under-21 side, playing the full 90 minutes in a 4-1 defeat against Roda JC Under-21s in the Reserves Eredivisie.

In 2020, Ouland M’Hand made the move to England as he joined Premier League side Arsenal. Linking up with their respected Under-23s side, the midfielder made his debut in a 2-1 victory over Ipswich Town in the EFL Trophy.

Featuring two times in the Premier League 2, the Dutch international suffered a fatigue fracture which ruled him out for the remainder of the 2020/21 season.

The following campaign saw a breakthrough into the first-team for Ouland M’Hand, being an unused substitute nine times for the Gunners, with five of them being in the Premier League.

Making 16 appearances in the Premier League 2, the midfielder netted five goals and registered two assists, scoring in fixtures against Man City, Brighton, Everton, Leeds United and Chelsea.

Ouland M’Hand also made five appearances in the EFL Trophy, helping the Gunners’ reserve side reach the quarter-finals of the prestigious competition. His star performance came in a 4-3 away victory over Newport County in the group stages, scoring one and setting another up at Rodney Parade.

Internationally, the 19-year-old has dual nationalities with Holland and Morocco, but has represented his home nation twice at youth level.

Earning his first cap at Under-15 level under the management of current Hull City Assistant Manager Peter Van der Veen, the midfielder played 58 minutes in a 3-2 victory over England in an international friendly.

His next cap came at Under-17s level in November 2019. Being an unused substitute in friendly fixtures against USA and Türkiye, the 18-year-old played 57 minutes in a 2-2 draw against USA Under-18s.
