Shota Arveladze said he was happy with a point after the goalless draw at Preston North End.
Goalkeeper Matt Ingram made a string of fine saves to help the Tigers pick up a clean sheet at Deepdale in the first away game of the campaign.
“I’m happy with a point,” said Arveladze.
“First half was quite an even game. We started again very poor second half, giving them the ball away too easily.
“We didn’t play at all second half, which gave them the possibility to roll the ball around and put more balls in, some good shots.
“Clean sheet, a lot of good defensive stuff. We have to work on offensive stuff.”
The boss continued: “We defend smart, we defend correct. Tactically, what we planned defensively, first half it worked very, very good – they didn’t have almost anything.
“Offensively, we should do more. Pressure on my strikers to get this ball, hold the ball, actions, which we need.”
Arveladze confirmed that Tyler Smith (hamstring) and Greg Docherty (quad) both missed the game through injury and are likely to also be out of Tuesday’s Carabao Cup tie at Bradford City.
