Forward Will Jarvis said he was pleased to contribute to a win, as the Under-23s defeated Cardiff City 3-0 in the Professional Development League.
The 19-year-old netted the game’s opener, before finishes from an unnamed trialist and McCauley Snelgrove secured the three points for Richard Naylor and Andy Dawson’s side, with the Bluebirds being reduced to ten men in the fixture.
“It’s always nice to get three points and a win,” said Jarvis.
“It was a great result, especially after the previous win against Ipswich Town. It’s two on the bounce and it’s nice to get a bit of momentum going into the end of the season.
“It’s always nice to get a goal, especially when the team wins, as the mood is better.
“When we’re on our game we can beat anyone and I don’t see anyone that’s better than us when we’re all playing well.”
The forward is currently on loan at Scarborough Athletic, with the Seadogs currently occupying the final play-off spot in the Northern Premier League Premier division.
Speaking on playing men’s football and how he is developing his game, Jarvis added: “The football is a lot different.
“The physicality in men’s football is a lot different. The players are stronger and the games are quicker, while in Under-23s football, the players are in and around my age group.
“They’re both difficult in their own way, but we’re fighting for the play-offs at Scarborough and I want to help them as much as I can.”
