Hull City Academy prospect Stan Ashbee has been called up to represent Republic of Ireland Under-16s for their double-header against Serbia.
The defender will travel to the Serbia FA Sportski centar FSS Fudbalska in Belgrade as the Republic of Ireland face Serbia in two fixtures on the 12th and 14th April.
Ashbee is part of the Under-15s squad and has represented both the Under-16s and Under-18s this season, scoring his first Under-18s goal against Professional Development League North leaders Sheffield United last month. He is also the son of Hull City legend and Hall of Fame member Ian Ashbee.
Speaking on Stan being named into the squad, Head of Academy Coaching Matt Hare said: “This is a fantastic and well-deserved achievement for Stan.
"I am sure he will enjoy and benefit from the experience of an international call-up and all of us at the academy are delighted for him.
"For Stan to represent our Under-18s at such a young age is great testament to him for all of his hard work, dedication and the quality he has demonstrated not only this season but throughout his time at the academy."
We would like to wish Stan all the best in his time with the Boys in Green.
