Hull City’s first team took part in an open training session at the MKM Stadium on Tuesday.
One thousand supporters watched the senior squad being put through their paces and then had the opportunity to meet the players and members of the coaching staff for photographs and autographs.
Midfielder George Honeyman said: “Seeing all the fans turn up and actually having a chance to speak to them, it’s really heartwarming knowing the club is supported by a great fanbase.
“To be reminded of that, especially after the last 18 months when we haven’t seen them, it’s nice to see them again.
“It’s lovely and personal and I’m glad I’ve seen a lot of smiling faces today. It’s why you want to become a footballer – to become people’s idols. You see little kids with your name and number on the back of their shirts and it means the world.
“It just gives you extra motivation to go out there and produce better results and performances in the coming games.”
