Tom Macauley at Hall Road Rangers:
Just hours after joining on work experience, the goalkeeper made his debut for the NCEL Division One outfit. However, he couldn’t stop Hall Road suffering a 3-1 home defeat against Rossington Main.
Harvey Cartwright at Gainsborough Trinity:
The 19-year-old kept a clean sheet as Gainsborough Trinity secured a 2-0 away victory at Lancaster City. Second-half goals from Bradley Grayson and Harry Jessop secured the three points for Gainsborough, who currently sit in twelfth position in the Northern Premier League.
Matty Jacob at Gateshead FC:
Another player to play a full 90 minutes was Matty Jacob as Gateshead defeated Runcorn Linnets 3-2 in the FA Cup. Cedwyn Scott scored the winner as the Heed face a trip away to face either Chester FC or Marske United in the fourth qualifying round.
Jake Leake at Boston United:
Staying in the FA Cup, Jake Leake was an unused substitute as Boston United progressed in the prestigious competition after a 4-0 victory over East Thurrock United. The Pilgrims face Stratford Town at home in the next round.
Callum Jones at Morecambe:
Midfielder Callum Jones made his fifth appearance in all competitions for Morecambe as they suffered a 4-3 defeat against Wycombe Wanderers. The 20-year-old replaced Adam Phillips in the 71st minute as the Shrimps currently sit in thirteenth position in Sky Bet League One.
Billy Chadwick & Ahmed Salam at Linfield:
In Northern Ireland, Billy Chadwick played 57 minutes as Linfield continued their unbeaten league start. The Blues drew 1-1 at home against Cliftonville, with Ahmed Salam not making the squad.
James Scott at Hibernian:
Forward James Scott was an unused substitute as ten-man Hibernian suffered a 2-1 defeat against Steven Gerrard’s Rangers.
Festus Arthur at Barrow:
Back in England, Festus Arthur was an unused substitute for Barrow, with the Bluebirds securing a 1-0 victory away against ten-man Mansfield Town.
Harry Wood at Scunthorpe United:
Harry Wood was also an unused substitute as Scunthorpe United suffered a 3-0 defeat away at Newport County.
Andy Smith at Salford City:
Elsewhere, Andy Smith was an unused substitute as ten-man Salford City defeated Colchester United 2-0 in Sky Bet League Two.
